چکیده
Abstract The aim of this study is to investigate the level contamination with metals (Fe, Mn, Zn, Cu, and Pb) in Nile River at great Cairo region. Samples water fish were collected seasonally from different sites along investigated area. Physical chemical parameters studied samples such as temperature, transparency, electrical conductivity, pH, BOD, COD measured. In aquatic ecosystems, heavy metal concentrations are monitored by detecting some indices like pollution (WPI) bioaccumulation factor (BAF). results clarified that Fe, Pb, Mn exceed allowed limits set WHO, 2011 all while Cu Zn limits. While muscle Fe within permissible FAO, 1992, but Pb Some Ni essential for animals plants many other Cd, Cr Co classed nonessential metals. All values HI below 1 except case habitual eaters give alarm consumer.

Exposure assessment of heavy metals pollution enriched in core sediment samples of river Nile, Aswan, Egypt
The river Nile is a dominating physical feature of the northeastern part of the African continent, covering areas exhibiting varieties and contrasts in topography, climate vegetation and people. So, in this study, we estimated the contamination of the Nile sediment with some major and trace heavy metals in core samples which can cause some undesirable health effects. Concentrations of all eleme...
متن کاملRisk Assessment of Non-Carcinogenic Effects of Heavy Metals from Dez River Fish
Background and purpose: Considering the many benefits of fish in the food basket, it is essential to assess its health risk. The purpose of this study was to examine the risk assessment effects of heavy metals from Dez river fish. Materials and Methods: In order to determine the concentration of heavy metals in the edible parts of fish, 80 samples were caught from the local species of Dez Rive...
متن کاملAssessment of Heavy Metals Pollution in Water and Sediments of Djendjen River, North Eastern Algeria
Water and sediment samples have been collected from five different stations, located along Djendjen River between February and June, 2016 so that the concentrations of Cd, Ni, Zn, and Cu could be determined. The extent of the sediment pollution has been assessed, using the multiple pollution indices, namely Contamination Factor (CF), Pollution Load Index (PLI), and the geoaccumulation index (Ig...

متن کاملPolychlorinated Biphenyls Water Pollution along the River Nile, Egypt.
Ten polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) congeners were determined in water samples collected along the River Nile using gas chromatography-electron capture detector (GC-ECD). PCB concentrations ranged from 14 to 20 μg/L, which were higher than those reported in previous studies, indicating serious PCB pollution in the River Nile. PCB congener profiles varied depending on the sampling sties. PCB-138 ...
